ALBERTO VELAOCHAGA SA, the parent company of INVERSIONES VELAOCHAGA S.A.C. (Sociedad Anonima Cerrada) began its commercial activities in 1931.  Mr. Velaochaga died in 1974 and the company was acquired by Carlos Reátegui Roselló, an industrial engineer.  At the time, the company held the prestigious “YALE” trademark for all its products, lift trucks, locksmiths, block and tackles, bridge-cranes and hoists.

In addition to the materials handling business, the company began to diversify.  In 1974 Velaochaga sold many products, charged to the Bilateral Compensatory Agreement: Federal Mogul Carburetor Payments (France), Gestetner Printers (England), Electric Equipment, Doduco from Germany, to La Casa del Carburador Gestetner De Laney respectively. These operations were via Banco de Credito with the Board of External Transactions for the private sector.

In 1985 Alberto Velaochaga began to operate MAPRESA, a particle board factory located in Tingo María, Peru.  After completely outfitting the plant, which had been in disuse for 10 years, between 1985 and 1987, Mapresa produced and sold its entire production, more than 30 TM/day.        
 
Under the leadership of the Owner-General Manager Carlos Reátegui, the company capital was increased to have higher operational capacity. In 1995 the company’s corporate name was modified to “INVERSIONES VELAOCHAGA S.A.C.” and new offices were opened.

IVSAC not only supplies machinery, but also offers technical support with specialized personnel and a complete stock of spare parts for all its machinery and equipment. Our goal is to promptly attend to our customer’s needs anywhere in the country for routine maintenance (and emergency) repair.

INVERSIONES VELAOCHAGA S.A.C. has an outstanding history of successful participation in the area of public and private tenders. IVSAC has experience subcontracting Peruvian national construction companies. IVSAC has been associated with these companies to provide the best technology, equipment, support and infrastructure.  Two examples:

SUB-CONTRACT - GRAÑA Y MONTERO

For construction of hazardous merchandise warehouses in the ports of Matarani and Mollendo in Arequipa for the Empresa Nacional de Puertos -ENAPU PERU S.A in 1984.

SUB-CONTRACT - CESAR FUENTES ORTIZ

For dredging the Port of Salaverry in 1982 with Zanen Verstoep N.V. from Holland. 

Over the past 30 years, Mr. Reategui has traveled extensively in the USA, Europe and Asia, specifically Japan, China and Korea, to acquire technology and expertise in many areas important to the development of Peru’s resources and industry. Since 1979, several prestigious representations have been added and much work has been done in Peru!

1.- NUKEM G.M.B.H. FROM GERMANY-to sell enriched Uranium at 20% with density at 3% for 10-MW reactor, built in the plant of Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclear - IPEN (the Peruvian Institute of Nuclear Energy), located in Huarangal. We have provided Uranium and the Reactor.

2.- ZANEN VERSTOEP N.V. BOUGHT BY BOSKALIS INTERNATIONAL B.V. FROM HOLLAND-specialists in port dredging.  With the Zanen Company we carried out the dredging of Salaverry port in 1982. We also won the tender for optimizing the Marinero Rivas, a Peruvian Dredge in 1983 -1984.

3.- INTERATON G.M.B.H. FROM GERMANY-provided nuclear equipment and supplies, an earthquake study and the definitive engineering plan for the 10-MW Reactor, RACSO, Huarangal.

4.- CERCA – FRAMATOME-Suppliers of nuclear fuel elements and Power Station.

5.- CORPORACIÓN INDUSTRIAL DE MOLDEO DE C.V. – México- IVSAC has achieved an important market for bathroom valves and accessories with these products.
 
6.- FLUIDMASTER INC. from U.S.A. - IVSAC has supplied water valves and accessories to the most important companies in this sector for internal use and export.

7.- ROSENBAUER INTERNATIONAL AG. FROM AUSTRIA AND USA for the sale of rescue and fire fighting vehicles.  Since 2002 we have sold vehicles to the International Airport Jorge Chávez for Lima Airport Partners and to Pluspetrol company. UHPS Mobil 130 high-pressure fire pumps to Cemento Lima S.A.

8.- TREBOL USA LLC, for the sale of 500-W Ultrox and zirconio.
